Sammy Hagar, a famous artist, and Marco Monroy, a producer, are mostly responsible for creating Cabo Wabo. It’s important to remember that things weren’t always rosy for the eatery; in fact, its initial financial results were less than stellar. Sammy kept opening new stores, but each one was quickly shut down due to various issues.
Sammy came up with the moniker after seeing a man staggering around on a local beach in the morning after a night of heavy drinking.
Hagar also used the term “wabo,” an abbreviation of “wobble,” to describe that individual, and wabo was the town’s moniker. The catchphrase was later utilized for a single, and in the 1990s, a creative thinker by the name of Noel Vestri was commissioned to design a logo for the company.
Soon after, in 1999, the proprietors began selling tequila that had been both hand-made and imported from the United States. In the years that followed, thousands more cases were sold, and businesses as a whole stopped losing money.
