When it first opened, Boston Chicken specialised in making its famous rotisserie chicken. In 1995, to better reflect the variety of items offered, the chain rebranded as Boston Market.
After such rapid growth in the early years, the company ran into significant difficulties and filed for bankruptcy in 1998. But in 2000, McDonald’s bought the whole thing up so they could put all that property to good use.
